Copenhagens’ Hand of Dust released their LP Beneath a Veil on Avant Records at the start of October 2015 with a digital copy to follow on the 15th.
Singer Bo Høyer Hansen sounds remarkably like Virgin Prunes front man Gavin Friday. Bo's lyrics provide visually visceral poematic verse. He wails, snarls and barks at the listener while somehow maintaining tunefulness (sort of.) Warlike Drums fire in battery with throbbing bass guitar to smash the senses into submission. Hypnotic semi acoustic guitars lull the ear into a false sense of security before joining the din of vocals, bass and drum.
Somehow all together the cacophony that is Hand of Dust transcends from chaos to create a beautiful experimental post punk whole.
The LP is 10 tracks and includes a 16-page lyrics booklet.
