Combining the death-metallic aftertaste of their recent “Wolf” EP with the technicality of their early works, Krallice got the place they’re most comfortable with. And, in a sense, Mass Cathexis is their most progressive record to date. The Marston-Burr tandem further explored their guitar playing abilities, ranging from distorted to progressive and abstract guitar-chords. Neatly like dozens of sharp knives scratching the surface of a mirror.
Krallice don’t only focus on guitar-playing. All parts on that nearly-instrumental record sound incredibly organic. Combining progressive tonalities of their playing with occasional vocal-parts, pauses, smooth changes from death-metallic sounds to something more experimental and even jazzy, they did not just expand their musical vocabulary but also made a massive step forward with their newest “Mass Cathexis”.
