HITHERSIDE

I listened to this EP five times in a row. Okay, I admit that it was the sole cd that was lying in my car, but still I didn't throw it out of my window. At the contrary! Sam and Jennifer (that's who Hitherside are) describe their music as female fronted melodic rock.

Just as simple as that and in fact, it is just that! If only rock (well, let's say gothrock) from a different kind. On this self released EP, they present six strong tracks. Differrent bands went through my head. Nightwish, 4-AD stars Throwing Muses and even Pat Benatar (and before you say anything, that is a very good reference as, just like ol Pat, Hitherside know how to write a good tune that sticks in your head.

So yes, I even began to sing along with Insignifant Other, but then again, that's normal if you hear it five times.

These youngsters are currently looking for opportunities to play. Hello promotors, where are you? The blessing from Peek-A-Boo you already got.
