I wonder how we should pronounce this band... iioioioii... Sounds just like me in the morning after some heavy drinking the night before (oi oi oi). Or should it be Õ, because that is what 110101011 would be if it were a binary code... Whatever it is: the music is more accessible than the name of the band.
Sun is the second full album of IIOIOIOII, after an earlier self-released Reflect. Christopher Gurney describes his project as "dark and gritty music with melodic and soft overtones". That pretty much covers it, I must say. It's a sort of easy-listening futurepop / synthpop for on the road.
Think De/Vision, Mesh or Wolfsheim and you will be very close to the sound of this project. But strangely enough, my personal favorite is the Art Deko remix of Rising Sky: great extra beats they've added there...
IIOIOIOII has made a great entree on the Juggernaut-label and I for one am looking forward to the next step!
