This single starts softly, gently but very catchy. I like the voice and the vibe. It's not a clubber but yet good enough to stay tuned. From the title 'Distorted Religion' on can expect a harsher track, but once you are over that you keep listening. 'The Promise' is even softer, with clearly some use of an auto-tune machine or something similar. At some point I hear some similarities with Suicide Commando, but in a very soft and gentle way. Diskonnekted could be another name to drop here (and I think that comes the closest to it).
After that we get 2 remixes, one of each track. First to grasp the gear is Assemblage 23 but we don't get much of a change: it didn't get changed into an industrial track or Hellectro: simply a bit of a higher tempo and here and there a few ads. A bit better is the remix HexRx with the second track.
Well: not bad, but up to the next review...
