This band is based in Brooklyn, NY. It began as a trio and is now a quartet. In 2008, the band took a break to work on the fourth album. After 8 years this concept album is ready. The topic: someone who slowly discovers that he loses the ability to communicate with his environment and finally with himself. In panic he flees into the forest where he meets a strange old man. The rest you have to find out yourself...

Musically, we hear typical prog elements similar to The Pineapple Tree, but also influences from bands like The Mars Volta, to name one. The story is told in twelve songs. A track like Descension just takes one minute, and yet it is a complete song. Jerks in the Obsolaire is a rock song with a heavy guitar riff, interspersed with some clean, quiet passages. Miles Past the Mark sounds more like a Porcupine Tree track. It is a very fine indie rock song with a lot of harmonies and subtle tempo changes. A Steven Wilson-style song: clean and tidy. A very fine and strong track.

Alarms begins with an intro in which the guitar imitates that kind of sound. Drums are added and the song goes in all directions: angry and harmonious, slightly chaotic even, but ingenious and beautifully constructed. Voiceless in the Dim is a quite atmospheric song with a beautiful organ and guitar. Only the final song is superfluous: 14 minutes of some crackling noise.

Crossing The Divide is a progressive rock concept of a high level: a fine mix and production, with lots of variety.

Deze band heeft zijn basis in Brooklyn, NY. Hij ontstond als een trio en is tegenwoordig een kwartet. In 2008 werd een pauze genomen om aan het vierde album te werken. Na 8 jaar is deze conceptplaat klaar. Het onderwerp: iemand die ontdekt dat hij langzaam de mogelijkheden verliest om te communiceren met zijn omgeving en uiteindelijk met ook met zichzelf. In paniek vlucht hij het bos in waar hij een vreemde oude man ontmoet. De rest mag jezelf ontdekken...

Muzikaal gezien horen we typische progelementen die we bijv. bij The Pineapple Tree terugvinden, maar ook elementen uit bands zoals The Mars Volta, om maar twee voorbeelden te noemen. Het verhaal wordt verteld in twaalf songs waarvan enkele korte die de vertelling ondersteunen. Een track zoals Descension duurt nauwelijks een minuut en toch is het een volwaardige song. Jerks in the Obsolaire is een rocknummer met een vette gitaarriff en met tussendoor wat cleane, kalme passages. Miles Past the Mark kiest eerder de richting van een Porcupine Tree-track. Het is een puike indierocksong met nogal wat harmonieën en subtiele tempowisselingen. De zang is in de stijl van Steven Wilson: clean en proper. Een heel fijne en sterke song.

Alarms begint met een intro waarin de gitaar een dergelijk geluid imiteert. Drums worden toegevoegd en voeren je binnen in de song die een beetje alle kanten opgaat: nijdig en harmonieus, lichtjes chaotische zelfs, maar ingenieus en mooi opgebouwd. Voiceless in the Dim is een vrij atmosferische song met mooi orgel- en gitaarwerk. Enkel de afsluiter is overbodig: 14 minutenlang gekraak en geruis met een korte instrumentale inlas na ruim 10 minuten.

Het album Crossing The Divide is een progrock-conceptplaat van hoog niveau: fijne mix en productie, met veel variatie.
