“Snakedressed” is the fourth studio album by most active Dirk Ivens’s incarnation. It was released in 1997 by Daft Records and was made once again in collaboration with Ivan Iusco of Minus Habens Records and Nightmare Lodge fame. A well produced and arranged work with the usual noise infused, yet dance oriented tracks full of harsh bass lines overlayed with intricately woven and noisy synth patches. An album that catapulted Dive as a cult act and one of the strongest influences for a lot of artists.
For the first time available on double vinyl record with all original tracks plus some extras from 1996 including songs from the split EP's with Kirlian Camera and Controlled Bleeding and a couple of tracks from the compilation "2/3” (Hands Productions).

Belgian post-punk outfit Whispering Sons has announced their long-awaited debut album 'Image'!
Belgian post-punk outfit Whispering Sons has announced their long-awaited debut album 'Image'. Comprised of ten tracks, it will be available on CD and digitally via PIAS/ Cleopatra Records.
This is the first major release for this Brussels-based outfit since their 'Endless Party' EP in 2015. This new release represents what the band describes as a "giant leap forward". Together with producer Micha Volders and engineer/co-producer Bert Vliegen, the band used their time in the studio as a means to broaden their sound, enriching it with acoustic drums and a whole range of synthesizers.
This album, recorded over a period of ten days at GAM Studios in Belgium, evokes an atmosphere that is ominous and urging, while capturing the band's live intensity. Mixed by Bert Libeert (Goose, B, Raving George - Charlotte de Witte) at Jetson Studio and mastered by Frederik Dejongh (Hooverphonic) at Jerboa Mastering, this work is tinged with angst and isolation. Lyrically these songs stem from alienation, distance and inertia.
The songs on 'Image' were written after the band collectively moved to Brussels in 2016. Between intense touring, they channeled their new ideas into the music found on this album. Feeding on the dynamics of the city, the tracks unveil feelings of alienation and distance. 'Image' is a motionless state, in which observations overshadow actions. It reflects the artificiality of things, yet still desperately clings on to ideals and obsessions, something which is also strengthened by the cover artwork, created of Flor Maesen.
Whispering Sons won Belgium's prestigious Rock Rally in 2016, the same national contest that launched the career of dEUS. Since then they released several 7 inches - 'Performance/Strange Identities' (2016) and 'White Noise' (2017), and the 'Endless Party' EP. Touring extensively in Europe, they've developed a reputation for their animated performances.
As of 19th October, the 'Image' LP will be available everywhere.
In October, Whispering Sons will open for The Soft Moon during a series of dates in Spain and Portugal, before playing several shows with Gang of Four and headlining a series of European live dates in November in support of this album.

Since 2015's debut EP Heartworm, Melbourne industrialists Kollaps have continued to refine their brand of harsh and viscerally raw post-industrial noise. Their hard hitting release SIBLING LOVERS, an LP that intensifies the conflict between the dichotomy of confusion and control cemented what claws at the core of Kollaps' sound.
The bands' distinctive sound, jarring textures and crude tones are created using re-appropriated waste materials like scrap metal, raw plastics and steel beams. For the band, this isn't an empty gesture but instead a way to quite literally use the detritus of postmodern society against itself. Kollaps continue to push the traditional boundaries of what it means to be a "band" whilst engaging the audience in an audible blood-letting and physical exorcism that invokes all the senses.
The bands' intensity and provocation as performers has built Kollaps a reputation for both ferocious live shows and confrontational performances. Their tyrannical stage presence and strident energy continues to steadily attract raucous crowds around Australia and Europe. Kollaps have proved themselves alongside some of the best local and intentional underground performers [Brighter Death Now, Trepaneringsritualen, Youth Code, Armour Group, Military Position, Operant].
This October sees Kollaps embark on a savage European tour of 13 countries and will also see them play WROCLAW Festival in Poland alongside heavyweights like Pharmakon, The Soft Moon, Blixa Bargeld & Teho Teardo and Monolith.

'A Midsummer Night's Dream' - a modern adaption of Shakespeare's comedy play - out on iTunes and Amazon!
Lysander loves Hermia, and Hermia loves Lysander. Helena loves Demetrius; Demetrius used to love Helena but now loves Hermia....Maybe this story sounds familiar to some of you.
William Shakespeare's comedy A Midsummer Night's Dream, written in 1595/96, is one of his most popular plays with its multilayered examination of love and its vagaries. Director Casey Wilder Mott takes the characters from the partriachal society of Athens to the modern city of Los Angeles. He successfully overcomes the gap between a story from the Elizabethan Age and present-day problems. The movie is an inventive and humourous journey through time taking you from the world of modern electronic devices to the old Shakespearean rhyme schemes and back again. This independent film is not only for poets and bards, it definitely arouses interest among the young audience as well and introduces them to the mysterious world of the theatre in quite a fun way.
The movie celebrated its theatrical release last July at the Nuart Theatre in Los Angeles followed by director and cast Q&As.
The movie is available via iTunes:
