It is impossible to see all hidden stars in the firmament, but sometimes, it is possible to discover new ones. This happened to me with this: Ib Hansen.
Not folky enough for being a singer/songwriter, I would classify him closer to e.g. Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Tindersticks or The National… A man who touches the soul with a breathtaking voice, sweet classy music filling the whole room with atmosphere. Put this man in the theatre, with red velvet seats and a bottle of fine wine, or let this CD take you away on a walk through memorylane in front of an open fireplace: the perfect soundtrack for cold winterdays filled with cosyness!
His website (www.ibhansen.se) is also worth a visit: great stylish pictures and a beautiful lyrics-book.
Maybe the discovery of the year?
