The multi-talented PAULINA CASSIDY (sketches, writing, art and music) releases with “Sugar Wingshiver” an album filled with Dream pop, with a capital D.
Like with all her work her music is filled with fantasy, imagination, emotion and sounds spiritual. “Sugar Wingshiver” is a tranquil journey into a miraculous imaginative world filled with fairy’s and other lovely creatures. Although all the fifteen songs got the same, ambient atmosphere there are some minor details that keep the album interesting. If you listen carefully you will notice that the Musical influences go from triphop (’Fire In Our Eyes’), dream pop (like in beautiful opener ‘Sugar Wingshiver’), melancholia (’Luna Sea’ for instance), fairy music (’The Trance Pool’), (dreamy) ambient (like ’Bird On A Mission’) and (mostly melancholic) world music (like the lovely ‘We Rush Beyond All Boundaries’). No nightmares here, “Sugar Wingshiver’ is just a magical place to escape to.
