[80/100]

'How am I meant to know' is a strange track, a bit a slow one, meant as an introduction? 'Sherman (Animals in the jungle)' sounds very familiar: poppy, slightly an earworm, with nice guitars and electronics. I like the minimalistic approach! More into garage rock and with some oriental influences is 'Broke'. It even has some drum’n beats in it. I like Tom's voice on 'Pushing your luck'.

This track reminds me very much of the 80's (for sure the sound). Same for 'Ton of Bricks'. A bit more into pop and rock is 'Trying to do Better'. 'The Girl you wouldn't leave for another girl' sounds like a sad love song, with a voice that sometimes is out of tone (because of the sadness). Love the simple sound: a voice and a guitar! More into rock is 'A Mistake', showing off new possibilities in the sound!

'You'll stay' starts with a very nice minimalistic sound: simple beats, some slow drum'n bass. 'The Tongue avoids the Cheeck' is a very nice title and I like the eclectic sound. 'Let's pray' is a strange song to end with, almost like let's pray that this record sells well and that all will love it. So: no worries! It's a good album and I liked it! The thing I absolutely loved is that almost each song is a different style, so that I never got bored! It was a nice challenge and taking a huge risk, but it all ended in a big success, so thumbs up!

IAMX
IAMX feels quite delicate to me. It needs understanding and effort to really see the bigger picture. The live show can do that, it can convince people, but from my internal feeling, it can be uncomfortable.

I am often a little frustrated by the complexity of my music, which in turn motivates me to keep composing, hoping that one day I will write a simple song.
