We continue on a high quality level. In Dutch, yes sir! Long live Intens that offers a very dark and doomy song here. Polluted air never smelled so good! Suggestion: have a listen to the demo-version of their song “Kindsoldaten” (you know where to look), meaning Child Soldiers … Beautiful!

 

Hedera Helix / Col Cassé / [9] / Laarne, Zele / Intellectro

Sharp Dutch lyrics, soft Stin Scatzor guitars, a slice of opera and there you have it: the perfect cocktail. Hedera Helix is a promising project and “Col Cassé” is a truly awesome track. To be continued …

Still on my review pile: their “Nine Angels” album which is fucking amazing! Yummy! Decoded Feedback on a dark day! We are going to give them all the attention they deserve … A sensation, nothing more, nothing less!

 

Anamorphosis / L’ architecte / [6,5] / Luik / Electro, Industrial

Fine intro and a rather nice song, but I don’t like the (sharp) vocals: too much metal, too little emotion!

 

Obverse Reality / Bag Of Words / [6,5] / Electro Rock

“Music for the fetish minded”? I hear “sweet” Electro-pop. Nothing wrong with that, but sofa-hopping, fist in the air, no, not really. As far as I am concerned, “Captive”, “The Day Hate Rised” or “Hose Overdose” would have been far better choices for this compilation. Then I would have considered a latex 8, at least! Anyway, you should check out this band. On their website you can download their excellent EP, “Endless”, for free.

 

Story Off / Fear / [7,5] / Oostende / minimal

A story about absolute body control (light), with a subtle Cold Wave twist... Something like that? I must say Story Off has caught my attention, certainly after hearing “Again” (YouTube), another great song. Dark stuff folks, promising!

 

Organic / Sequence Of My Projector / [5,5]

Not my cup of tea! Not that it’s REALLY bad. On the other hand … something from Thieves of Silence, True Zebra, VoidWork, Northern Sadness, Embers … might have been … (fill in the blanks yourself). Suggestions: “a better choice”, “more appropriate”, “a more satisfying option” …

 

PervertedByLanguage / All Of My Mother’s Favourite Nightmares / [9] / Brussel / Alternatief, Indie, Rock

Some kind of stranger on this compilation … and I think he’s beautiful. A melancholic, quiet spot in ferocious Electro and Gothic surroundings. Great song, fantastic guitars, lots of emotion, excellent vocals and … Februari will never be the same again. Cheers and a hug Jeremy. You’re one in a million!

Star Industry do as expected: deliver one hell of a song! Gothic armies arise from the dead and unleash their fury! BEWARE, Goths Kick ass!

The Sisters / Love Like Blood / Fields … all over again! Goth ist tod? I don’t think so! Erato is rocking the place with its mighty guitars and convincing vocals …

Goth song number 3. Fields on a mission … Good song also, but I like the two previous ones better.

“Better than them”? Yep, you are! Cold Wave “après la letter”, with punk attitude, in Dutch and with style! “They call us dirty” … So what? WE LIKE! Wicked music for/from feasty bats …

 

Lost God / Despair, torture, massacre [Vigilante remix] / [8]

Pure, raw and ultra-brutal. Despair, torture and massacre in a brilliant remix! A hate virus, spreading from the Belgian Ardennes, the musical embodiment of evil … FEAR ITS FURY!

 

Tying Tiffany / Show me what you got [RevCo World remix] / [7,5] / Italy, Bologna / Techno Punk, Goth Pop, Post “Whatever” ….

Show me what you got, INDEED! Santa Hates You “Bolognese”! Why not? FUN FUN FUN and sexy as hell! Atari Tiffany Riot on the move!

 

In conclusion …

“Till Dawn Do Us Part / BE” offers an interesting mix of (mainly) Electro, EBM, Industrial and Gothic. 14 great songs and only 3 disappointing ones: The Belgian(/Italian) Hordes dance to victory once more! What are you waiting for? Go spend your money! VIVE LA BELGIQUE! “Till Dawn …” is limited to a meager 300 copies and released on Februari 25^th, 2012. Het Dead By Dawn Label, bekend om zijn uitstekende compilaties, waagt zich nu ook aan een Belgische telg. Een land in verval? Als dat maar goed komt. Leest u vooral verder …

 

Psy’Aviah / Sos overdose [Dead by Dawn edit] / [7,5] / Antwerpen / Electro-Techno

Psy’Aviah geeft bonksgewijs meteen het goede voorbeeld. Zet u schrap, het gaat hier stuiven! Invetten, die beentjes en Dance motherfuckers! DANCE! Een mooie “upbeat” start van deze winterse Ronde van België die ons hopelijk 17 etappes lang zal weten te boeien.

Menselijk gedrag. Een interessant thema. Nu nog een goede song schrijven.

 

Texas Trauma / PF girl / [8,5] / Charleroi

Sterk nummer met fantastische gitaren in de hoofdrol! Eén van mijn persoonlijke favorieten. You SHOULD keep running, Texas Trauma! TEMPO GODVERDOMME! Waanzinnig goed …

 

Intens / De brug / [8,5] / Zele / Alternative Electro

We gaan verder op hoog niveau. In het Nederlands, jawel! Lang leve Intens dat hier uitpakt met een sterk (vervuild) doemnummer! Positivo’s? Niet echt. Een aanwinst voor het Industrial / Electro wereldje, dat zeker wel! Verpeste lucht rook nog nooit zo lekker … Luister ook eens naar de demoversie van “Kindsoldaten”, u weet wel waar u moet zoeken … mooi!

 

Hedera Helix / Col Cassé / [9] / Laarne, Zele / Intellectro

Scherp exposé, een lekkere portie soft Stin Scatzor (de gitaren), gedresseerd met wat lukraak gestrooide opera en opnieuw Nederlandstalig, zoiets gaat er bij mij altijd in … Hedera Helix levert met “Col Cassé” een grootse bijdrage aan deze verzamelaar! Een project om te volgen en naar het schijnt ook een bijzondere podiumervaring [pseudo-anarchistisch theater]. Gaat dat zien, dames en heren! Gaat dat zien!

Op mijn reviewstapel ligt nog een CD van deze gasten … Fantastisch spul! Yummy! Decoded Feedback op een donkere dag! We gaan hen zeker de aandacht geven die ze verdienen! Een sensatie, niets meer, niets minder!

Uitstekende intro en best wel een sterke song … maar de vocals vind ik persoonlijk een pak minder. Te veel metaal, te weinig emotie … Jammer!

“Music for the fetish minded”? Ik hoor brave Electropop … niets mis mee, maar op de zetel staan springen, vuist in de lucht? Dat nu ook weer niet. Wat mij betreft was “Captive” een veel leukere keuze geweest. Een latex 8, minstens! Idem voor “The Day Hate Rised” en “Hose Overdose” … Toch maar eens checken, deze band! Doen, absoluut! Op hun site kan je de uitstekende EP “Endless” downloaden, gratis en voor niets.

 

Story Off / Fear / [7,5] / Oostende / minimal

Een verhaal over absolute lichaamscontrole, de lightversie zeg maar, met een leuke Cold Wave twist … zoiets. Mijn nieuwsgierigheid is in elk geval geprikkeld, zeker na het horen van een ander, nog beter nummer, “Again”. Dark shit! Promising …

Niet mijn ding! Niet dat het daarom “slecht” is … Iets van bijvoorbeeld Thieves of Silence, VoidWork, True Zebra, Embers of Northern Sadness ware echter … Vult u zelf maar aan.

Een buitenbeentje op deze CD, maar daarom niet minder mooi. Een melancholisch rustpunt tussen al het Electro en Gotisch geweld … Mooi opgebouwde, emotierijke song, het betere gitaarwerk, uitstekende zang en … februari zal nooit meer hetzelfde zijn. Klasse! Star Industry / Last crusades / [8] / Maasmechelen / Gothic Rock

Star Industry doet wat we van hen verwachten: een uitstekende song afleveren! Gotische legers staan op uit het graf en halen verwoestend uit! BEWARE, Goths KICK ASS!

We blijven in de Gothic sfeer dames en heren. Erato rockt er lustig op los. Sterke song en “Mighty” gitaren … The Sisters / Love Like Blood / Fields … all over again! Met een gedreven zanger EN in een goede dag! Goth ist tod? Ik denk het niet!

Goth song Nummer 3, dit keer met een hoog Fields/Mission-gehalte! De minste, maar zeker niet slecht!

Een vrolijke meestamper om mee af te sluiten. Show me what you got, INDEED! Santa Hates You op Italiaanse wijze! Moet kunnen, waarom niet! FUN FUN FUN! And sexy as hell! Atari Tiffany Riot on the move!

 

Tot besluit …

“Till Dawn Do Us Part / BE” biedt een interessante mix van (vooral) Electro, EBM, Industrial en Gothic. Een stoofpotje waarvoor wij maar al te graag aanschuiven. Mede geprepareerd door onze eigenste huissmurf nog wel, komt dat zien! 14 kwalitatief hoogstaande songs en slechts een drietal nummers die wat teleurstellen … De Belgische horde zegeviert eens te meer: SWEET, SWEET VICTORY! U weet wat U te doen staat: zwaaien met die Euro’s maar! Vive la Belgique! Het is weer feest …

Bijna vergeten! Gelimiteerd! Er zijn slechts 300 exemplaren, dus wie te lang twijfelt krijgt grote spijt! Personal message: Smurf, beschouw bij deze mijn exemplaar als gereserveerd!
