ATTRITION

With this 'One horse rider' Atrritions's Martin Bowes presents a remix CD of a song that was on his album from last year 'The Unraveller Of Angels'. This six part reinvention brings us some different versions of this song.

Opening very strong with the 'Technomancer' mix, Roy Julian Digre brings a great soft melodic version of this track, followed by the D.O. Service mix, my personal favorite, slowely build up, nice bombastic beats, analogue synths, great scary backing volcals, a perfect mix of this song, and by far my favorite of this album. The 'Man Woman Machine mix' has some more guitar samples and effects in it, and is maybe the 'hardest' mix and more danceable than the rest. All very nice, but have to say that the other mixes are to much of the same, they added not much new things, except maybe lots of violin on the Attrition mix. Don't get me wrong it's all very nice, the mixes are rich, dark, and have lots of orchesteral elements, but a bit to much for a whole cd, i'm affraid. Maybe a listen first on the bandcamp site, and choose one or two nice versions you like to buy and add it to your Attrition collection.
