Forma, the Brooklyn-based electronics trio brings us their debut LP.

All tracks have been given titles based on the band name followed by a random number. They can’t teach us much.

Their trance-inducing drone minimalist music sounds fairly ordinary in my ears but it does do its job quite well - in no time I am totally relaxed and has me, almost vacantly staring, in a trance.

However, this is enough for me to create a permanent impression. Probably, the trio can set up a good live show if they could expand their compelling trance landscapes with intriguing visuals, but on record it is a bit too basic for me.

Forma, een electronica trio uit Brooklyn brengt zijn debuut-LP uit.

Alle nummers hebben titels gekregen gebaseerd op de bandnaam en een willekeurig nummer. Deze kunnen ons niet zoveel meer leren.

Hun trance-inducerende minimalistische drone muziek klinkt me redelijk gewoontjes in de oren maar ze doet wel haar werk – binnen de kortste keren ben in totally relaxed en haast wezenloos voor mij uit starend in een trance.

Dit is echter onvoldoende voor me om zo een permanente indruk achter te laten. Allicht zal het trio een mooie show kunnen opzetten als ze hun meeslepende trance landscapes voorzien van intrigerende visuals, maar op plaat is het net iets te mager voor me.
