The French thrashcore band La Horde shortly signed in 2012 to the Fantai'Zic label, soon after it was founded. In that same year the debut was released. Be aware, and do not confuse them with the party folk band of the same name, because this is something completely different.

Dystopia opens with the very trashy Soleil Noir that has an aggressive and clenched sound. Nous Savions sounds very trashy too, but it is slightly slower than the opening track.

Dernier Souffle opens with a nice bass line, it’s just a shame the rest of the song isn’t that interesting.The forced shouting of the singer disturbs a bit on this track. Ravage starts with a dystopian intro. There is a lot of variety here, in fact it’s more crossover than trash.

Sometimes the tracks tend to go into the hardcore direction (Le Monde Inverti), sometimes it’s more trash (Soleil Noir) and at other times cross-over (Sous La Bannière Obscure).

This is an album full of steroids and with a sombre view of a world in chaos. 14 songs is quite a lot to listen in one go, but the album certainly has its strong moments: Soleil Noir, Sous La Bannière Obscure, La Fin des Mondes and Ravage are the best ones. A solid album with a great production.

De Franse trashcore band La Horde tekende kort na z'n ontstaan in 2012 bij het Fantai’Zic label waar datzelfde jaar nog het debuut werd uitgebracht. Verwar ze echter niet met de partyfolkband La Horde, want die is van een heel andere orde.

Dystopie opent met het erg trashy nummer Soleil Noir dat snedig, agressief en gebald klinkt. Ook Nous Savions klinkt erg trashy, maar iets trager dan de openingstrack. De zang klinkt een beetje benepen, maar past wel bij de muziek. Dernier Souffle begint met een mooie baslijn, alleen kunnen ze dit interessante begin niet doortrekken in de rest van het nummer. Hier stoort het geforceerde schreeuwen van de zanger een beetje. Ravage begint met een intro dat dystopisch klinkt. Veel afwisseling, meer cross-over dan trash. Een aantrekkelijke song met een ferm middenstuk en een fijne solo. De tracks gaan soms in de hardcore richting ( Le Monde Inverti), dan weer meer trash ( Soleil Noir) en soms meer cross-over (Sous La Bannière Obscure).

Dit is een album vol steroïden en met een sombere kijk op een wereld in chaos. 14 nummers vind ik nogal veel om de rit in één keer uit te zitten. Maar het album heeft zeker en vast zijn sterke momenten: Soleil Noir, Sous La Bannière Obscure, La Fin Des Mondes en Ravage zijn de uitschieters. Een degelijk album met een al even degelijke productie.
