EBM fanatics might be familiar with the name Johan Hansson who operates under the name of Unitary. Many references are made, but the Swedish musician describes his music simply as Emotional Body Music. Don’t worry as this is not about ballads: Unitary doesn't forget the pounding beats, Johan just creates, well... emotional songs.

Unafraid is Unitary’s newest EP, featuring seven tracks and what a blast it is! Perfect electro-pop that sounds like a perfect mixture between old school EBM and melodic future-pop.

The melody of Unafraid is catchy and born to be a killer on the alternative dancefloor. The sole song that isn’t a remix of the main song is Subversion. Magnificent electro-pop in a sort of Mesh-style, but with more beats and (yes) the same emotions. As said, you get 5 other versions of Unafraid. No panic though as the song is so strong that it never bores and the remixes are diverse too.One of the EBM masters is Autodafeh and with them it’s no surprise that this track suddenly sounds like Front 242! The best remix (but also the most poppy one) is the one by Assemblage 23.The Dekad remix is more Kraftwerk-like, and with the usual boom boom tschak sounds this song gets another (great) life. By hearing this EP, you know there’s a future for Unitary in the EBM world. Tip!
