CAITHNESS

One of the finest genres I can think of must be dark ambient. Blame it on the darkness that's inside of me but it's also the kind of music that gives the author what I would call an artistic freedom that sets him free from all standards.

No need to add after one minute a bloody refrain no one wants, as the artist here can work as a film director just like if musical explorations are indeed movies made with tones.

Sometimes this type of music can be boring (we're honest) and then there are moments when you're thrilled from the very first moment to enter the mind of the musician and that is certainly the case with Caithness' second album, which is the alter ego from Hylgaryss of Dark Sanctuary.

The records starts with some threatening Gregorian chants, martial drums and bells that warn you that you will be drowned in some very dark atmospheres in where Hylgaryss is the leader and the listener the victim (in a manner of speaking) who will be visiting the darkest places of his mind.

People who know their stuff, immediately have understood that "Apostasy and the sorrowful child" can be best compared to the best stuff that's been released on Cold Meat Industry.

Yeah, we know it's far from original to say: but this is quite close to Raison D'Etre.

Music to sit down and watch as your sick world goes by. Darkness remember, darkness...
