Some years ago it used to be impossible or at least quite difficult for underground artists from different countries to come up with a collaboration-cd. The worldwide web evoked this evolution and so lots of cd’s see the light of day like this.

The collaboration between these musicians from both Sweden and Turkey is just another example of this.

Erdem Helvacioglu is a household name in the contemporary experimental music-area.

With his music that can be labeled as electro-acoustic, he could be spotted on the stages from different festivals.

He decided to team up with Per Boysen, an artist who likes to give his drones a jazzy feel with the use of a saxophone. How difficult this combination might feel if you read it on paper, the more it works perfect on a cd.

Even more, it’s just that “strange combination” that makes “Sub City 2064” quite a unique record.

The listener can drown himself into ten tracks that float between cinematographic and jazzy (at times sleazy) atmospheres and of course as you could have expected, it’s a bit experimental as well.
