KERRETTA

Post metal? Stoner hardcore? Kumara Chips rock? Kerretta are a bunch of kiwi's, armed with guitars, drums and heaps of pedals. They hail from Kingsland, New Zealand and have supported bands like Explosions In The Sky and Jacob.

Saansilo is an instrumental CD. Lush landscapes to freak storms bringing only despair, it's all in there. Quite a ride, similar to the nature of En Zed itself, full of contradictions, snowy mountains diving into the ocean (Milford Sound) and towns smelling like rotten eggs with smoke coming out of the pavement everywhere (Rotorua). I've been there and was glad to have left the place... No fun walking on top of a volcano, let alone living on one!

Anyway, do I like this album? It's not my thing at all, but I can imagine this band can stir up a ruckus! If you're into stuff like 65daysofstatic, Isis, Mooncake... this might also be your thing. Uncompromising. Sure, but I think there's more and better similar stuff out there, somewhere...

Out on cd or special limited vinyl, encased in a cardboard sleeve weighing 1!!! kilo. It's probably bulletproof as well...
