MS30

Silken Tofu, home of wierd aural adventures. MS30, it's possible all of this 'sound' has been made with that mythical synth but I didn't look into that, it's not important anyway. The project has two members, Aymeric de Tapol and TZii, who both hail from Brussels. They make music that sounds like it's perfect for your late night, sleep deprived brain.

Tambakunda starts with an annoying hearing test, so don't turn it too loud! Then it evolves into a deep, bassy dronetrack. "Marrassoum" reminds me of Kom-Intern or vidna Obmana, low rumblings that grow and come alive into a pulsating rhythm. Using the same base, "El-Wad" is again a hypnotic track with a sharp click, like your record has been scratched. Boyd Rice anyone? "Ndar" has the same repetitive rhythm as "Marrassoum", it does sound very much alike but then another humming noise comes into play, creating again a different atmosphere. Very intriguing how small details are given the opportunity to have such a big impact in the experience.

Cd only track "Rosso" is more rhythm based and old school industrial. Recommended if you are fond of Drone Records, Maeror Tri or the ambient stuff of EE Tapes.
