THE ARCH

After a great 'comeback' album (Engine In Void), the Belgians of THE ARCH present us their new EP Beating The Balance, and what an EP it is!

Opening track Solipsism is a nice short instrumental electronic piece, the perfect starter. It is followed by Body ‘N Angels, which may be one of the best tracks they have ever written. It's the perfect combination of guitars, electronics and a fantastic chorus; think I Wish I Could from The Neon Judgement. The track also gets a brilliant Absolute Body Control treatment, where Eric Van Wonterghem did a really great job. Listen to the track on your headphones and you’ll notice that every little sound, every echo, every note is right in its place and the female vocals of Chiffon’s Tale is making this remix close to perfection. The next tracks Metelitsa  -also represented in an excellent Attrition remix- and Le Noir Est Blanc are on that same high level. The EP ends with nice remix of Donor, a track from the Engine In Void album.

The whole Beating The Balance EP can easily compete with their classics Babsi Ist Tot, Ribdancer and Revenge Revival , and I think it's going to be a real challenge for them to keep this high level on their upcoming new album.
