I would like to review an album that was published last year, but that caught my attention and I think it deserves a review on this site.
They are Boytronic, and their album is 'The Robot Treatment'. This album has been highly appreciated by synthpop lovers. Because from the beginning the concepts of synthwave and robots are appreciated, which reminds us of the best times of the classic synth and best electronic music.
The album has a well-marked electropop style without the old repeated recipes. Here the band innovates with their originality, providing a harmonic and a different style that distinguishes them from other danceable electro-pop bands. Besides, another point in their favor, is they do not abuse the resource of the catchy chorus to make a hit.
This is one of those releases that when you listen to it all, it surprises, because the quality of this album is discovered song by song and their balanced sound is easily noticable from the first impression and the first minutes you are playing it. You can play it over and over again and it won't saturate.
Robot Treatment is a great work that looks very elaborate and musically full of resources. The main vocal work could be described as sweet and melodious accompanied with remarkable high-pitched backing vocals, but by no means raucous or shrill. It´s beautifully embellished with arrangements of synth interventions that decorate the main melody of the songs.
Moreover, the percussions with beats to the right point and sequences perfectly performed generate a balanced atmosphere which results in a very harmonious album, without startles and with the same rhythmic tendency throughout the album. But it still sounds interesting and particularly dynamic.
This attractive album is highly recommended for pop lovers in general, I really hope that the album continues with the good repercussion it has at the moment, and that Boytronic goes further with this excellent level.
You can find them on all streaming platforms to enjoy this work. In fact, on Spotify the album contains three bonus tracks, and the social networks of the band. Surely you will enjoy it as much as I do.
