DISTEL

It is difficult to stay objective when the music is (partly) recorded in your hometown. “Puur” is written and recorded in Nijmegen and Paris. DISTEL recorded the album between 2009 and 2011. The result is finally available on a full length CD and digital format. The music of aeter (synthesizers and vocals) and scram sax (percussion) is best described as witch house, death disco or ritual electro. Although dark ambient meets psychedelic ritual soundscapes, weird voices would be a good description as well. It is great fun for someone like me to listen to the Dutch language in the background of the music (like on ‘Ämne’ and ‘Vann‘). Actually the voices are mostly in the background with the beats and music on top. It is tastefully done and it works wonderfully well. “Puur” is not a typical electro record, but it leaves space for adventure, fun and some strange moments. Love it, hate it, enjoy it.
