Heartlay can be compared to Him, Limp Bizkit, Korn and Live. It is the work of a Frenchman (Aaron Sadrin), who composes and performs everything himself, even the vocals. The music is a combination of different influences from alternative metal to progressive rock and an occasional use of industrial/electronics in the background. 

This EP contains five songs and makes a powerful statement. The first four songs are full and well developed, while the last song is a kind of instrumental outro.

See You Under begins as a gothic rock song to which slow metal influences are added, a nice opener. Leave Them All Behind begins with a heavy guitar riff, the song is rather subdued until the moment that the song breaks open. It Comes Alive starts with a nice riff and contains a solid industrial rhythm section. Not bad at all, but I still feel hungry afterwards. Hidden is a rock song as we know it of eg. Live. Pretty powerful, clean vocals that range from modest to extravagant, just as the music in this song. White Walls is, as said before, an outro: a soundscape to end with.

Aaron Sadrin provides an EP of which he can be proud, especially as he did everything himself.

Heartlay kun je situeren tussen Him, Limp Bizkit, Korn en Live. Het is het werk van een Fransman ( Aaron Sadrin), die alles zelf componeert en speelt, ook de vocals heeft hij zelf ingezongen. De muziek is een combinatie van verschillende invloeden: van alternatieve metal tot progressieve rock en met af en toe een scheutje industrial/elektronica op de achtergrond. De zang klinkt tegelijkertijd wat rockend en klagend.

Deze EP bevat vijf songs en vormt een krachtig statement. De eerste vier nummers zijn volwaardig en goed uitgewerkt, terwijl de laatste song een soort van instrumentale outro is. 

See You Under, begint als een gothic rocksong waarin langzaam metalinvloeden worden gebrach, een mooie opener. Leave Them All Behind begint met een zware gitaarriff, de zang is eerder ingetogen tot op het moment dat het nummer openbreekt. It Comes alive begint met een mooie riff en bevat een op industrial gestoelde ritmesectie. Niet slecht, maar ik blijf wat onbevredigd achter. Hidden is dan eerder een rocker zoals we die van bijv. Live gewoon zijn. Mooie krachtige, cleane vocals die van ingetogen tot uitbundig gaan, net zoals de muziek in dit nummer. Geslaagd tot aan de laatste noot. White Walls is zoals eerder gezegd een outro: een soundscape om af te sluiten.

Aaron Sadrin levert hier een EP af waarop hij trots kan zijn, vooral omdat hij alles zelf heeft gedaan.
