The Rigel presents us a strange combination, very personal and with an almost unique sound. Starting as a classic ensemble, changing into an minimal electro project, mixed with some guitars and unique voice. I love the Gleiwitz incident, for sure with the little Japanses touch (almost a R. Sakamoto composition). I still keep this strange tune in my head, like a strange drug. The next song 'Take a deep breath' sounds more like an experimental version of Diskonnekted and maybe they should try something out, together? This time it almost changes into a triphop song, but still the guitars overpower it all. He should have worked a bit more on the voice, but that's only a detail. The same tric goes along with the next song 'A color I'll never be', very experimental and with a nice piano and distortion on the voice like we hear on a Diskonnekted song. 'Till death do us apart' even has a radiofriendly sound with some real potential! Just listen to it and you know what I mean, however it still stays very experimental and special. The only downhill song on this entire album is the soft piano song (it really could be a great song and has a lot of potential): it sounds as if mister Robert Buchinsky was really busy whilst singing, which is really a shame. The last song 'When leaders fall' can be taken over by Stin Scatzor or Suicide Commando and become a real smasher. Somehow the cold voice sounds a bit too cold for this song and a more agressive sound could make it so much stronger and lift it at a higher level, but that's just my personal thought. I think if you are tired of listening to the same kind of songs: just listen to this record and be prepared because this one is really swinging out of the box and is worth giving it a try!
