“The Factory Scream” is a compilation of Twilight Ritual songs, recorded during the mid-eighties. On the menu: 16 excellent songs from the Belgian duo Geert Coppens en Peter Bonne (also A Split Second), pressed on heavy duty 180 gr. vinyl. “The Factory Scream” is limited to only 500 copies, so you know what to do … RIGHT NOW!

A long time ago, somewhere in the eighties or early nineties, a good friend of mine gave me a mix tape with songs from the “A Tribute To Flexi-Pop” compilations. These compilations featured loads of truly great, innovative and groundbreaking artists and bands such as Mittageisen, Indians In Moscow, BeNe GeSSeRiT, Guerre Froide, Ian Boddy, Venus In Furs, Christoph Glowalla, UV-Pop, The Misz, Nine Circles, Transparent Illusions, Iron Curtain, Subject, Aerial FX, Voice Farm (and many others). To my knowledge there must be 10 of those delightful compilations (CD-r’s) out there. They were never officially released: Pieter, another brilliant idea/opportunity perhaps?

On the mix tape mentioned previously, was a sublime Minimal Synth track from Twilight Ritual, “I Never Called You A Dream” (“A Tribute To Flexi-Pop Vol. 7”), one of the songs that really touched me and stood out. Sadly enough it’s not on “The Factory Scream”. But NO WORRIES, there are loads of other great songs on this varied album to be rediscovered and showing the many faces and facets of Twilight Ritual. The absolute highlights of the album are, as far as I’m concerned, “Suburban Wastelands” and “Close To The End”. Also “Only You” (early Simple Minds?), “Visions of Steel”, “Show Him Out” and “The Factory Scream 1” are memorable and rich songs.

In conclusion: another exceptional OnderStroom Records release!

“The Factory Scream” is een compilatie van Twilight Ritual nummers uit de zalige periode 1984 - 1986. Op het menu: 16 uitstekende songs van een schitterend Belgisch muzikaal duo, Geert Coppens en Peter Bonne (ook A Split Second), op zwaar kwaliteitsvinyl (180 gr.) Naar goede gewoonte een gelimiteerde uitgave: 500 exemplaren voorzien van alweer een fraaie hoes. Gezien de groeiende schare diehard fans van het schitterende label OnderStroom Records: schiet een beetje op met de aanschaf van deze parel, of u bent gezien!

Twilight Ritual is voor mij een oude bekende, meer bepaald van de “A Tribute To Flexi-Pop” verzamelaars (CD-r’s) … Ze bevonden zich daar in het uitstekende gezelschap van geniale, innoverende en grensverleggende artiesten en bands zoals Mittageisen, Indians In Moscow, BeNe GeSSeRiT, Guerre Froide, Ian Boddy, Venus In Furs, Christoph Glowalla, UV-Pop, The Misz, Nine Circles, Transparent Illusions, Iron Curtain, Subject, Aerial FX, Voice Farm (en vele anderen). In totaal verschenen 10 van deze sublieme, bij mijn weten nooit officieel uitgebrachte verzamelaars. Pieter, een ideetje misschien? Op Vol. 7 stond de schitterende Minimal Synth song “I Never Called You A Dream”, die spijtig genoeg niet op “The Factory Scream” is terug te vinden. Niet getreurd! Er staan meer dan genoeg andere prachtsongs op dit gevarieerde album dat de vele gezichten van Twilight Ritual laat zien! De absolute uitschieters zijn voor mij persoonlijk het desolaat grootstedelijke “Suburban Wastelands”, met Spaanse lyrics en het weergaloos trieste “Close To The End”. Ook “Only You” (vroege Simple Minds?), “Visions of Steel” (imposant inert), “Show Him Out” en “The Factory Scream 1” zijn bijzonder memorabele, rijke, krachtige en heldere songs …

Nog maar eens een topper uit de stal van OnderStroom Records! Toeval kan dit al lang niet meer zijn …
