For the European audience it might sound weird but there is a musical term named 'Latino Body Music' and as you can expect there are Latin-American bands who are making aggro-tech, most of the times sung in Spanish and where most of them sound very familiar with the likes of Hocico.

There’s no problem to find thousands of these bands on the net but Larva succeeded in reaching Danse Macabre and of course it’s because this band belong with the better ones.

Larva was founded in 1998 by InqUesT and Blackend. After having released some tapes and self released cd-albums they got, in 2008, the attention of Advoxya-Records. This label released 'Voces del laberinto' which was produced by Jan from X-Fusion.

After ‘The hated’ they found a home at Danse Macabre who are now releasing their latest album: “Und sie assen sich selbst”.

Despite the German title, most of the songs are sung in Spanish.

We can imagine that not everyone will like these hard beats and aggrotech-voices that are dealing about aggression but for those who like that sort of stuff (and yes, Hocico too), they will love without any doubt this release from Larva as well. Others better avoid it.

Je houdt het misschien niet voor mogelijk maar sinds kort bestaat er een term die Latino Body Music heet en zoals te verwachten valt, bedoelt men hiermee Latijns-Amerikaanse bands die zich specialiseren in aggro-tech, vaak in het Spaans gezongen en waarbij de een al wat meer op Hocico dan de andere lijkt.

Via het net vind je duizenden van deze groepjes maar Larva is er wel in geslaagd om de regionen van Danse Macabre te bereiken, en dat heeft zeker te maken dat ze één van de betere van hun soort zijn.

Larva werd in 1998 opgericht door de heren InqUesT en Blackend.

Na wat tapes en een cd in eigen beheer te hebben uitgebracht werden zij in 2008 opgemerkt door Advoxya-Records waarbij 'Voces del laberinto' op dit label werd uitgebracht, en dit in een produktie door Jan van X-Fusion.

Na opvolger ‘The hated’ kwamen ze dus uiteindelijk met hun nieuwste “Und sie assen sich selbst” op Danse Macabre terecht.

Ondanks de Duitse titels zijn de meeste nummers in het Spaans gezongen.

Niet iedereen zal tuk zijn op deze plaat maar voor wie van loeiharde beats en vervormde aggrotech stemmen houdt, waarbij het vooral om agressie draait (en tja, voor wie zot is van Hocico), is dit weliswaar een aanrader.

De rest kan zich maar beter wijselijk onthouden.
