THE IMAGINARY SUITCASE

Well, again a surprise and a nice discovery! I love the vocals (they sound like... Chris Isaak on a slow day). The music is pretty soft, spooky sound, but very attractive. Somehow I got sucked into the story and the strange mood. Somehow ideal for a dark, clouded and cold winter night. The first song is a good guide into this particular strange sound 'The hands that guide'. 'Keerbergen' is a funny title, but look further than the title and let yourself glide over a strange flow. The more I listen to the rest of the songs, the more I think about Derek and the Dirt (hell: go search for it 'oh by the way'). Further on you might get some influences from Death in June, Johnnny Cash and Brendan Perry. Only 8 songs (and a cover of 'Reel around the fountain' from The Smiths), but still enough to make you feel comfortable about the future of this band.
