OCTOBER PEOPLE

Believe me, it makes sense to surf through all these blogs when you’re looking for brand new sounds. I actually can’t remember where (I even guess it’s a South-American blog) but I’m glad I lend an ear to October People from Spain.

I know, if you’re not from Spain chances are small that you have heard from them and who knows chances might be small as well that you’ll ever see these guys on stage as every country has their hidden post-punkgem, but this rocks anyway!

Giovanni (Voice, Synth), Vito (Guitar), Enrique (Bass) and Dani (Drums) are from Madrid. After hearing their splendid mini-album that features eight tracks it’s crystal clear that they have listened to The Killers or Editors, but there’s definitely more than this. Their indiepop has a dark side and you’ll hear echoes from The Sound and The Chameleons and even some gothrock in it. In all honesty they reminded me a bit of Star Industry, but I guess this is pure coincidence or not?

Nah, forget Placebo as October People definitely have much more to say. Certainly a band for the future. Check here to hear their tracks. Recommended!
