The Belgian label ConSouling Sounds presents here a drone and ambient compilation. The result being, a very interesting album which gives us 12 tracks showing the diversity of the genre. Monotone soundscapes, guitar drones over dark ambient and field recordings, you will hear them all. Another great aspect of this album is that nearly all tracks are unreleased or even exclusive to this album.

Some tracks breath pure nostalgia, Cattinara from Italian outfit IAM., a fantastic track that reminded me of the better works of Runes Order. Other tracks breath a certain tristesse, And Often I Look Back from Dutch project Monotonos for example, is dark ambient at it’s best. Another interesting track is Geomagnetic Disturbance from Belgian one man project Distant Fires Burning, electronic sounds combined with a bassguitar, maybe a strange but very effective combination.

I can continue on and on like this, as the whole compilation contains interesting projects and will take you on a trip through an imaginary dream world. An album to listen to in an isolated room, if possible in the dark! Welldone!
