Then Comes Silence is a Swedish four-piece band that exists since 2012. The music is a cross between doomy noise rock, death rock, shoegaze, psychedelic rock and gothic. The themes are about the fascination for death, doom, spiritualism and corruption. The band blends the darkness and the romance of death in a nice way, while the guitars are played at maximum volume. The group released two long-players, and now there is the new single Strangers from the third album Nyctophilian (on Novoton).

The song begins with a typical goth guitar, complemented with heavily distorted guitars. Not deafening, but captivating enough. A tight rhythm section gives the music an extra energy, where as the vocals are sung with the last breath. Add to that a very nice guitar solo and you get a strong single.

Then Comes Silence is een Zweedse vierkoppige formatie die sedert 2012 bestaat. De muziek houdt het midden tussen doomy noiserock, deathrock, shoegaze, psychedelische rock en gothic. De thema's gaan over de fascinatie voor de dood, het noodlot, spiritualisme en corruptie. De band brengt de duisternis en de romantiek van de dood mooi samen, en met de gitaren op een maximaal volume. De groep bracht reeds twee langspelers uit, en nu is er op Novoton de nieuwe single Strangers, uit het derde album Nyctophilian.

Het nummer begint met een typische gothgitaar, aangevuld met zwaar vervormde gitaren. Niet snoeihard, maar toch beklijvend. Een droge, zelfs doffe, maar strakke ritmesectie komt het geheel versterken. De vocalen klinken alsof ze met de laatste adem worden gezongen. Tel daar nog een heel lekkere gitaarsolo bij en je krijgt een sterke single.
