Once Gypsy Blood used to be an excellent song from the sadly forgotten Doll By Doll, but who knows this name ,might be in the future, replaced with a brand new banding coming from Chicago who deliver with "Cold in the guestway" a more than excellent debut.

This album has been released on Sargent House and everyone who is aware of this label will definitely know that it is also some sort of guarantee for some quality indie stuff.

You got here twelve songs which can be described as a lo-fi shoe gaze thing, where the guitars sound as gorgeous as they did on “Psychocandy” by The Jesus & Mary Chain. If you add some noisy My Bloody Valentine-atmosphere to that, then you surely know about what kind of music we’re talking about.

Those who expect an indie record without some sharp edges will be disappointed, as it’s clear those Californians are opting for a lovely jingle-jangle sound.

Perhaps not the type of record that will change the world, but just like with The Soft Moon or Rayographs we can only say : welcome and join the club!
