DEFRAG

Somewhere between industrial, noise, power-electronics and break-beat you will find the music of DEFRAG. It will work on some peoples nerves, because there’s hardly any time to catch your breath. It sounds busy, packed with beats and different sounds. It feels like you need all your senses to keep up with the music. That’s the strength, but also the weakness of this album. It’s a rollercoaster of impressions, but it regularly feels as too much. The music on “Drown” fails to take a step back in pace and therefore lacks a real surprise. It’s difficult to tell what the meaning or feeling is behind the music. The message seems to be for people out of space. Strange rhythm and sometimes too much craziness. Listen for instance to the madness on ‘Entering The Abyss’. Not bad, but we’ve heard so much better.
