EN

The 20-year-old Liverpudlian singer-songwriter Katie Mac is barely six months in the music world, but she has come far in that short time, because not only was she a guest on the BBC Merseyside event in her hometown, meanwhile, she played with her band at the Sound City Festival and she opened the Liverpool International Music Festival in Sefton Park (August 2015). A young lady with ambition and to notify the outside world of her existence, the ep Minutes into Hours is released with two fresh pop/rock compositions.

Minutes into Hours is a mid-tempo rock ballad for piano, guitars, percussion and softly humming synths (which sound like violins) in the background. It is dangerous to label a young artist, but we dare to situate her near Haim, with a little of Ricky Lee Jones even, but the composition is strong and original enough to speak of a new talent. No Change There has a more quiet pace and sounds much more like a singer-songwriter composition of which the lyrics are as important as the musical accompaniment. Which again consist of gently gurgling guitars, striking drums and synths that sound like violins. Katie's voice sounds sharper and has the quality of a seasoned chansonnière.

A new talent that deserves to be kept in mind, because Katie Mac not only sounds great, as a 20-year-old, she is already an experienced singer-songwriter.
